Our Story
Founded in 2022, The Bosworth Foundation was created in honor of our namesake, David Bosworth, in memory of his contributions to our community near and far. Our organization aims to provide financial and educational resources to enable our future Good Shepherds of the world to pursue additional education, transforming them into leaders within their own communities.
David Bosworth was born in Blyth, United Kingdom, right outside of Newcastle, and lived there for the first half of his life. After moving to the US, he fell madly in love with his wife of 22 years, Daneen, and married her in 1999. Shortly after, David and Daneen had their three kids: Dan, Michaela, and Paige. David also has a son from his first marriage, Andrew, who married his own love, Katherine. Andrew and Katherine welcomed David and Daneen’s first granddaughter, Isobel, into the world shortly after he passed, and recently had their son, Isaac.

David was an executive at Parker Hannifin Corporation in Mayfield Heights, Ohio for over 25 years, leading the company’s enterprise systems division and overseeing hundreds of individuals during his time. He was a man of honor, dedication, and strong work ethic, always finding ways to support those around him and often doing it without anyone else knowing. He never gloated or asked for recognition, but always asked for those he helped to pass it forward when the time was right. He continued this until the day he died.
David was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 2009, which subsequently caused David to go into renal (kidney) failure in 2014. In 2018, David started dialysis treatment three times per week, waking up at 4:30 am every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to get treatment for 5-6 hours before heading to work. Because of his health, he retired from his service at Parker in May 2020 to enjoy more time with his family while focusing on his condition.

After David’s death, his family and friends sought to continue his legacy in any way they could. At David’s funeral wake, many people unknown to the Bosworths paid their respects to him, telling his wife and children that they would not be where they were today if it weren’t for David. This was the fuel that ignited the idea to honor him however possible.
It was always David and Daneen’s intention to privately give to those who needed it most when the time was right. Unfortunately, they didn’t get the opportunity to do that in the way they envisioned due to his death. The Bosworth Foundation accomplishes this, but also provides the chance for those in the community to learn more about David and all the amazing things he did during his time on this Earth.
